I'm sure other people have seen this type of thing, but today while adjusting my drivers rear door latch I found a spec sheet for my jeep pasted to the back of the door panel. Pretty cool, just thought i'd pass it along, maybe all XJ's are like that?
My HO/AW4 doesn't need it, but I have no a/c. As soon as I pulled the a/c condensor from in front of the radiator I noticed a 10 degree drop in coolant temp. Rather I use the e-fan to cool the trans cooler when on the trail. A cooler thermostat may also help if you're running a little hot.
Some alignment shops do that so if you fall asleep at the wheel or are not paying attention to the road you will not cross the center line into oncoming traffic. Thats kinda old school stuff though, not sure if they do it anymore.
The e-fan was there for the A/C condensor anyway i thought? I have no A/C so.....why not use it.
Ok I will run power directly to the fan then from a relay. Will it mess up if i am running it while wheeling and the normal system tries to kick it on?, like overload it?
I've installed a tranny cooler in front of the radiator directly in front of the electric fan, will I hurt anything by unplugging the thermostat sensor to make it run constantly while on the trail? The CEL comes on, but goes away when the ignition is cycled.
