we have done a few DIY liners.... and for the time and money involved, I'd just pay the extra few bucks and let the shop do all the work. The last one we did wasnt any less money.

Also wanted to add to what I have posted above... I just located an 1983 Nissan LD28 diesel engine. Its an L-6 engine 2.8ltr. I think these are similar to the SD33 and SD33T diesels that were used in the IH Scouts so they should have the same bolt pattern. I am not sure how reliable the LD28...
