It's an 87. Not sure of the history as to if it was law enforcement, government or not, but what you are describing was my first hunch. If it is an antenna, whatever it was for, is no longer. Since I don't need it, I wanted a second or third opinion as to what it was before I remove it.
I took out my headliner the other day to run my CB Wires and to redo the liner cover itself and found this mysterious wire. Any idea what it is or what is is for?

There is a missing cover on that last piece I know as my buddies Jeep has this piece...
On my jeep now I have a set of auto doors that are giving me trouble. I have found a set of manual doors that is more appealing, but the doors them selves are pretty beat up, whereas mine are pretty straight and match the rest of the Jeep.
Would it be possible to swap the internal components...
Best I have had was at the Wooden Nickel just outside of Silverton. They also have a location in Sublimity. The bun this thing has is about 8"x8" square and homemade! Can't remember the name exactly, but I know there is more than one to be had.
Sounds like a good time! I hope to make it next year. I just started building up the Jeep and it needs a bit more work before the maiden voyage on a trail run.
Just an FYI from a consumer trying to shop on your site. You need to add one more level of filtration to narrow the lift kits to only certain Jeep models. It is very frustrating to shop for an XJ lift when I have to search through 93 different lift kits. So much that I gave up and left the...
Does anyone have a link to more info on what is involved with this swap? I found a good complete HO to build into a stroker and swap into my 89, but wanted to know if what else I may need or run into with the swap. TIA
Your wheels are the problem. I run this set up with KM2's and wheels with 4.75" backspacing and have no issues with rubbing the fenders or the control arms.

Yeah sorry its an 87. I think I know the plastic part in the steering column you are talking about. I had to take apart the steering column to tighten up the bolts and thought the piece looked a little worse for ware. And yes it did not terminate before I took apart the column also. Good...
Thanks for the advise. When I checked all the fuses, I was using a test light. Today I actually removed them to inspect them and it turns out there was some corrosion on a few. After cleaning the fuses with a wire brush I now have dash lights. I still have the issue with the blinkers though...
So I haven't realized it until recently, but the dash lights don't work in my Jeep when I turn on the headlights. Also when I turn on the lights, the turn signal indicators are solid green when the blinkers are not activated. The clock also does not display unless the headlight switch is used to...
I am new to fabricating and want to build some bumpers and sliders for the cherokee, but have no idea where to get the supplies. My brother in law has a welder that we will be using.
Where is the best place to buy some steel to make some bumpers and sliders? We will probably need some 2x3...
