The "Jeeper Sleeper" - XJ Camper Conversion

I understand there's fuses in fuse boxes built into the truck. I'm not sure why anyone thought I was asking about those... My question was whether I need additional at lower amperage after my cigarette outlet; maybe I didn't make that clear. (If I knew better, I wouldn't ask.) And, dude, if I...

Thought you were referring to the glass fuse in the plug itself; that's what I was talking about. That should prevent any trouble right there, since hopefully in China they put the right fuse for that light-gauge wiring...

You know, that's what I thought, but some old-timer recommended I add one. I wouldn't have thought there'd be a need for it, but he made me second-guess my idea.

FYI someone put me onto this company during the course of this project. http://www.mcmaster.com/ They don't have anything I can't go get at the hardware store, but if you live in a more remote place or something, maybe it's handy... And, no Demonoid, there's nothing free here, it's NY...ha!

Actually, though, here's something maybe you guys can answer... I temporarily (to test) wired up the three LED spots that are going on my roof (six diodes apiece), no idea what they pull--not a thing with them to say. I hooked them up to a cigarette lighter adapter with an on-off switch. My...

No apologies needed. I do not think you're giving me sh*t. Hopefully you don't take it personally if I disagree with you, either. (God Bless America!) The interior ply is smooth sanded underlay; used it for that reason. Yes, I know, I have a bit of sanding to do (probably leaving it for the...

I have a full spare. Some XJs were ordered with it and got a factory cover. I always roll with a full spare. Back windows are tinted, but not fronts, and I don't want those tinted. Had that on my '92. Didn't care for it. But that's a personal preference, or I'd do just that. So my curtains will...

The "Jeeper Sleeper" - XJ Camper Conversion

Only had a little time yesterday, so I started getting this sucker bolted down. I don't like drilling holes and creating potential rust problems, and the backrest bolts for the rear bench provide a good place to mount a bracket (see earlier pics). So I drilled some 1/4" holes through my frame...

    '96 Hombre 2.2L P0301

Nevermind, it's the coil pack. Found out that testing without testing under load didn't prove anything. Followed someone's instructions in another forum, and switched the 1&4 plug wires at the plugs, and it threw a P0304 instead. Happy day.

There is... My concern is exactly what you pointed out--is it possible to miss on more than one cylinder, and only get a 301? I guess it is, so I should be asking, Is it likely? I hate computerized systems; I feel like we put too much trust in them.

Yeah, you'd be surprised how little help they are... ...these trucks are bizarre. The 2.2L I4 has many little variations, and they don't have anything to do with it being a Hombre or an S-10 or a Sonoma. I think it's maybe mid-year changes. Anyway, the guys in the S-10 forums who solved this...

    '96 Hombre 2.2L P0301

Hey, guys. Hoping for a little info for a buddy. He has a 1996 Isuzu Hombre 2.2L, vin 4. We're having a lot of trouble finding information on his present problem: cylinder 1 misfiring under a load. The only code that comes up (and intermittently, the MIL goes out) is P0301, misfire cylinder...

The "Jeeper Sleeper" - XJ Camper Conversion

Yesterday's progress: I replaced the strips of 1/4" ply with strips of 1"x2" to give my slats more support. The spring system is pretty strong, but pretty flexible, and it remains lightweight. So far I am pleased with this. (Laying down on my assembly on the garage floor was very comfortable...

The "Jeeper Sleeper" - XJ Camper Conversion

I'm 5'8" and she's 5'6", and we've slept in the back before, but it sucked. I don't know how anyone taller claims they've slept comfortably back there. The floor is hard, too. Yes, I'm extending it (my fault for making my posts so lengthy that no one reads the whole thing.) I took a whole lot...
