I read this on the interweb: There are 750 BLM employees in Utah, all but 6 are furlough. I would say this qualifies as short handed!!

SPoke with local tourism this am. She said all BLM land would still be usable for 4x4, biking, hiking ect... Even Fed Camp grounds would be open with no service to bathrooms, trash ect.. Bring your own TP and trash bags.

Does anyone know if last time we had a govmt shut down it affected federal land use? Gated areas like Sand Flats area, would it be open? I know you guys have your big 30th coming up and I'll be out there soon also. I did not want any surprises after traveling 1500 miles to get there.

I was not impressed with my air soft experiment either. I had 35" MT/R mounted on steel D windows with traditional weights. Two tires had 3-4 oz on them, the other two had 7-8 oz on them. The jeep rode fine. But they were clip on weights and I knew they would get moved around or knocked off...
