I Had a Red Head and it only lasted 2000 miles before it developed ~ 4 inches of play. I had ordered the box a year earlier and the day before I was going to fit it I ruptured the disc in my lower spine so the box sat on my garage shelf for about 14 months so my warranty was out and they didn't...

I seem to be having a classic hot soak problem (rough running after re-starting the Jeep after a short stop at a store etc) although it's not been that hot out except for one or two days and now have a CEL P0303 no 3 cylinder misfire. I have had hot soak issues occasionally...
I am not sure about a 90 XJ but on my 01 XJ the shaft that connects to the steering box end slides inside the shaft that connects to the steering wheel end. Normally at the steering box end there is a splined couple joint where you just remove a single bolt then you pull the the whole u-joint...

At the moment I am not sure if there is a problem with the springs. I think they are the original ones on the vehicle i.e. 15 years old and I am not sure if they are weak and if they are making some contribution to my cupped tires.
Thanks for the advice.
Regarding the coil springs Jeep doesn't service these anymore. According to my build sheet the front coil codes are:
Left front ZFKP
Right Front ZUJP
Crown automotive have a standard duty 16.5" coil but Codes are ZVF and ZGF
and they have a heavy duty coil 17" Codes...

18 months ago I put on Duratrac Tires (235/75/15 LT) and got a full alignment. These tires were slightly larger than the 225/75/15 I normally use and they cupped badly on the front. So I rebuilt most of the front end and replaced the following:
Ball...

Normally I do all my own work but I got a herniated disc 6 weeks ago so
I made the mistake of letting the stealership replace my rear shackles.
They mangled the shackle bracket. It looks like they pulled the inner sleeve of the bushing through the bracket widening the hole and...
2001 XJ I6 AW4
I was looking to put 235 75 15's on my XJ which is mainly stock.
I went to a few tire places with guys telling me an LT tire is too much tire for the Cherokee . They said the LT tire would be too stiff and would lead to worn out balljoints and the suspension isn't stiff enough...
Have you checked to see if the tire might be cupped. Cupping on deep tread tires can give the appearance of bouncing up and down especially if shocks are bad
Thanks for all the advice I just wanted to clarify that I was referring to the stabilizer bar that looks a bit like a wishbone and attaches to the axle linkages and the body maybe I have used the wrong description for the part. This stabilizer bar seems to be preventing me from getting a socket...
2001 XJ, AW4, I6
I am replacing the steering linkage on the Jeep and had three questions:
1) Should I put anti-sieze on the tie rod threads that go into the tube or will that make it too slick for the clamps to get a good grip?
2) My Jeep is mainly stock and it looks like I need to remove the...
