I have never changed the transmission fluid since I got it, which was just under a couple of years ago. I know the previous owner took good care of it and before that it was a lease vehicle. If I had to guess I would say it has been changed at least twice maybe.
I left Pep Boys a little confused last weekend. I took my 98 xj there to have the serpentine belt replaced. While it was in there I figured it would be a good idea to have the transmission fluid and filter changed. I was told that if the fluid had not been changed within 36k miles it would be...
Sorry I left this thread hanging. After trying to use the new fancy multimeter I got at Discount with mixed results, I finally gave in and just put in a new one which fixed the problem. There are two things that I learned from this process that may be helpful for some people..

I got a Cherokee recently. It’s a 98 with an I-6 motor, and an AW-4 Transmission. It has about 115,000 on it and it’s in really good shape. My goal is to drive it forever.
I’m not rushing out to do a bunch of mods on it. I am gonna keep it on the street till I get a lift kit and some...

I have found factory manuals for other stuff before with some work looking around, I have purchased them as well.
What I don't get...
I guess I'm gonna have to spend some money on a manual cause I gave up trying to find any downloads. Seems Chrysler is all over the place monitoring these things.
I can't get the factory one right now so anyone got any opinions on the alternatives?
I got my first jeep about 3 weeks ago. It's a 98 XJ SE 4.0 auto with about 114000 miles on it. I drove it from Chatanooga back down to Central Florida with no problems, but after about three weeks I have some issues.
In the last week or so I started to notice the motor missing occasionally...
