hehe yea i guess that could be true.. i dont have a cherokee yet :( i was just putting in my guess i have a (TJ) to many :repair: with it so i want to get a :new: jeep edit: mines an auto and its not shifting out of first it revs up to about 4k rpm and i stop it dont want the car to get to hott

trannys going bad...samethings happening with my jeep.. take it to a tranny expert to look at... and shop around they are tryin to charge me 2500 for a new jasper tranny :nono:

ok so i took my jeep, they cdrove it and hooked it up to a machine and looked over it. they found little scraps of metal (tiny) could only get with a magnet...for me it was my gearing was striped.... take it to a trans place to look at it,:dunno:

all i can say is that seems to be a better price then what jasper is trying to charge me... they want to charge me from 2,500 to 4k for a rebuild on my TJ tranny !!!1

ok, wow so im not the only one.... well my trannys doing the same thing...(i have a TJ) but yea mines doing it with all the gears.... im taking mine to a (trans) mechanic tomorrow to look at it ill let you know what he says... he told me today that jeeps ,XJs TJs and YJs have common trans problems

another thing i was just wondering is the 242 transfer case has 2h.4h.4 full. 4lo whats the diff between 4 full and 4 low or 4h? thanks and sorry for the newbie question i was just reading diffrent post and it got me thinking :laugh:

ok im just wondering does an XJ have 4H on the fly(were you can drive up to 45 mph and shift it) or no?

LOL yea i own a TJ with 33s but i want a cherokee also for some reason i love the look of a nice lifted cherokee.. on some 35s so soon That will be my new toy and ill keep the tj to drive topless on them hott summer days :patriot:

ok i know i could search this on the web.. but no i want to give you guys(jeep gurus) a chance first.. ok so i might get a xj as a trail rig and i was wondering what has more clearance from the bottom of the tc skid an xj or a tj? and if i got a 5.5" lift on both what would have more...
