I know for a fact it has nothing to do with the tranny being in park, because it starts everytime but its just a matter of turning the key. I am thinking it has to do with that rod that goes back and forth. Does anyone have a diagram of the whole steering column?
Left me rephrase, The key turns to the on position but when I turn it more to crank it, it stops. If I force it (with a pair of plyers) I hear a click and then it starts.

I doubt its running to hot because I have wired electric fans and the temp doesn't get over 150. I just put a new dis, wires and spark plugs on. Tonight I am going to put a can of fuel injector cleaner in and hope it passes tomm. The cat is not rattling or anything which makes me think it is ok.

No, it drives fine, It only makes noises when stopping. I am thinking that I might of bent the yoke when the cone broke, but wouldnt it be making the noises when I was accerating too?

So there is no difference between mercon dexron 3 and ATF+4? I bought some ATF+4 Full Synthetic and was going to put it in but wasnt sure what was in the tranny before and weather I could mix the fluids or not.
