I am bringing my old thread back up again. The Jeep still loses 4th when it gets hot and 3rd when it gets really hot.
I replaced the transmission solenoids, but no joy.
I cleaned NSS, but no joy.
I just ordered a new NSS. Hopefully that will do it.
It's got about 130k.
I started to look at dropping the pan and replacing the oil pump after you and the others mentioned it. The oil pressure drops down to 10 psi at idle, and some have said that replacing the pump also fixed their low oil pressure issue at idle.

It turns out Tim Allen lied to me and it's not just about "More Power!" I thought the disks all around and "frame" stiffeners would have made a difference, but it sounds like it really is not enough. Thanks for all the advice. Back to the drawing board!

Since I'm getting 4.6 minimum on Pin 2 (to PCM), I'm going to guess my TPS is shot.

I'm doing some troubleshooting on the 97 XJ automatically unlocking the TC and even downshifting sometimes.

Does the Jeep need to be at operating temperature to do the checks?

How bad is having .25" less of threads holding the wheels on?
On a related note, I'm guessing you are running 15s as well. How does the Jeep ride with 35s and 15" wheels?
I figured I would update this in case anyone else was looking for answers. I had my wheel measured with a tire caliper, and it turns out my wheel is 9", which probably means 4.5" of backspacing. It also means that it did not fit without spacers. What is odd is I cannot find a 15x9" black steel...
The IROs are longer than stock, so I would move my shackle one bolt to the rear. Ideally, that would put the angle right at about 45 degrees, which I think is the desired angle.
