yeah i really need to adjust the bump stops. right now i cant afford to buy some serious shocks. just looking for a good choice of a cheaper shock with more down travel then up if possible. i cant remember what length i have now on my 4.5 lift but its not enough!
ive got 4.5 lift and just installed long arms. looking for some shocks up front to take advantage of them. can i just throw on some longer shocks? thanks
make sure its still aligned correctly and make sure all bolts are tight on the tie rod/drag link. that'd be one of the first things i did anyway.
ah i didnt see it didnt happen until you lifted it. check every bolt you touched installing that lift.
im thinking they should pop right out since everything else on my 88 hasnt really given me trouble (knock on wood). the rear main seal did but thats another story. the grinding of the stud edges i will try. the bushing im not worried about. i was going to do the exact process TwoDoor said...
thanks man. removing the studs was the only part that kind of tripped me up. i cant wait to get this kit on and my sliders are coming in a few days. gonna be sick!
so just skip drilling holes and just weld the brackets on..? or both? also about removing the crossmember studs, once their gone would the new bolts just screw right in or would some modification be needed?.
i did this to my 88 and swapped in new shafts/bigger ujoints/USA seals in the process. your supposed to change out an inner seal to prevent leakage but i didnt. it does leak down the long side of the tube though but i dont have a drop coming past the USA seals. i made a plate out of 16g steel...
