    hitch and roof rack interchangability

Hey folks, I'm going to head to the junkyard tomorrow to pick up some parts for my Jeep. While I'm there, I'm wondering if I can pick up a hitch. Will any XJ hitch bolt to my 97 XJ, or should I be looking for a specific year? Also, I would like to get a few more of the stock roof rack...

Dealer BS'ing me??? Fuel pump tech

Thanks for the help guys, I got the pump changed last night. Tonight I'm going to bolt everything together and see how she goes. From looking at the filters, I think you all are right - the pump is fine, the filter is clogged to the point of not letting fuel through. I got a new pump from...

Dealer BS'ing me??? Fuel pump tech

Thanks Rich. Then would you agree that the fuel pump itself is probably fine? Where can I find information on the 97 recall?

Dealer BS'ing me??? Fuel pump tech

My wife has a 97 xj as a daily driver. 4wd, 4.0, AT, 107k - nothing too fancy, all stock. Last night on the way home, it started to sputter. By the time we got another mile, it sputtered really bad, another 1/2 mile and wouldn't go at all. It idled like poop and had no power. So...we AAA it...

    No oil pressure at start-up?

97 xj, 4.0 AT, 100k When I start the Jeep, I have no oil pressure for about 5 seconds. Then it takes off and idles at 40 (while cold) and seems to be running perfect. I've changed the sending unit - had no affect. Any advice???

Continue saga (was PO700 and PO743)

Quick recap... Check engine light comes on, take it to A-zone for a reading. Number PO700 and PO743 pop up. Come to NAXJA, ask for help. Learn PO700 is general tranny problems, 743 is Torque Converter Clutch Here's the wierd part... My wife takes it to a dealer this morning to have them see if...

Codes PO700 and PO743 (I tried the search)

Any help with the acronyms and locations of these doo-dads so I can check the wiring out? The light just came back on again - looks like it's for real anyway. Could this be related to the NSS? Does it just need a good cleaning again or is the torque converter a completely different sensor...

Codes PO700 and PO743 (I tried the search)

It doesn't seem to affect driving...at least not yet. I unhooked the battery to reset the computer - and to see if the check engine light would immediately come back on. It went around the block (2 mile block) just fine. Light stayed off. I'm not as familiar with this stuff as I need to be...

Codes PO700 and PO743 (I tried the search)

Hello xj doctors, let me describe the patient... 1998 4wd, 4.0, what I beleive to be an AW-4 tranny. The check engine light came on, I took it to A-zone and they told me codes P0-700 and PO-743. Both in the tranny, the second in the torque converter. I tried the search engine but didn't get...

    Draining the radiator

OK, I'm hiding my head in shame with this question. I have a 98 xj with the I6 that is my wifes DD - hence, I don't know much about it. I'm trying to drain the radiator and can't find the drain plug to save my life. I'm about ready to just pull off the lower radiator hose and drain it that...
