I followed the same directions and had similar problems. You have to use some cleaner or WD40 on it and give it a couple of hours or a day to sit. Then it will almost slide off.

Check you high pressure lines for your steering, mine went bad and leak like a Bitch...

After I seafoamed my Jeep, the idle improved alot!!

Like the title says, when I first start up and the jeep has been sitting awhile. It will hesitate, and then it's fine once I give it gas in Drive, but not when I'm in Park and rev it. It will rev up but it has this slightly strange idle and will go right away when I put it in drive and give it...

This might seem like a dumb question, but you didn't happen to turn the headlights switch, to the left I believe. To turn on the inside lights and forget they were on, by chance?

Seafoam claims on the back of it that it will help you pass an emissions test...so give it a try.
