I might also ask the question has anyone out there changed over to the newer system with the cap on the radiator? If so didn't actually do any good or was it another big waste of time not to mention money?
I've come to you guys before and have always had good luck so here goes. I've changed all the hoses. I've changed the radiator. I changed the bottle. I changed the water pump. I changed the thermostat several times. The entire cooling system has been replaced. I have flushed the engine block...
After you get your bumpers from JCR clean them real good. Final wipe down with denatured alcohol. Then the spray on good high quality 3 M undercoating. Wait 24 hours then sprayed heavily with auto grade rustolium flat black. A flat black paint don't be afraid to coat them four or five times...
Less than a half-hour ago I posted a new thread on this site asking for information on vent hoods. Guess what? Not only did I get my answer. But a complete description as to how to do the job and addressed all the water problems that I had floating in my head this site is just unbelievable...
Thinking of cutting holes in my hood to install vents. Very scary! I haven't found anyone in my searches that has discussed water coming in on the engine. Copious amounts of cold rain water on hot engine can't be good! Is there anybody out there that wants to encourage me or talked me out of it?
I have an 89, just like yours. One problem after another problem after another problem after another problem with the brakes. Left it in the hands of an expert(he has worked on these from 1984 to today). After working on it for two weeks. He threw his hands up in the air, what chance do you...
Thanks for the quick reply ! What about the electrical system clutch relay, things like that. I would really like to eliminate anything to do with the airconditioner as much as possible.
I live in Minnesota and have no real need for air conditioning. It doesn't work well anyhow. After I get the freon professionally removed, what problems am I going to run into in removing the system? By the way this is a 1989 xj with a 4.0. As always in advance, thanks a lot!
3M undercoating. Then use the husky brand liner! One thing that I found that works really good after spraying in the 3M undercoating is to spray on flat black automotive quality paint soaks into the undercoating like you wouldn't believe!
My ride is a 89XJ with the 4.0. I had a throttle body cable sticking problem, but I have eliminated that by lubrication. I also had a problem with the cable going to the transmission from the throttle body, but I've disconnected that. When I turned the key on to start position engine starts...
