Help needed to identify what this is.

That Piece pushes the rod that pushes the ignition switch I do believe. If you just got a jumble of parts out of your column good luck with that jigsaw puzzle. You will definitely want a manual or even perhaps worth pulling the wheel off one at a junkyard just to see and take pictures. Also if...

Popping Sounds Under The Floorboard Under Full Throttle

Can't really help but pulling the front driveshaft and test driving would eliminate a few options. I'm thinking front driveshaft U joints or double cardan joints. This test would rule that out.

    Windshield Seal

This is what I was thinking. Fill the whole void with sealant. Silicone was my first thought but was told not to use silicone in windshield applications? This may be referring to installations? Or does this mean at all?

    Windshield Seal

The rubber gasket around the windshield. Seems earlier models have clips and hard trim pieces? That setup seems 100% for looks/aerodynamics? I am not caring what it looks like, just want it to be sealed and not have my windshield fly out. Does this trim piece actually do anything or is it just...

    Windshield Seal

Just picked up a 99 Sport 4x4 Auto as a winter beater. Needed to do a heater core in the wife's DD 98 and I didn't get to it before the cold came. Got this one with only 160k on the clock and everything working for about the price of having the heater core on the other jeep done at a shop so I'm...

    Blowing brake light fuses

Checking the tailgate harness where it flexes was a good call. Looked there and every wire is split in the same spot and partially exposed, some of them majorly. Short city ready to have a party in there. Going to tape it all up and see what happens. It is a very intermittent problem so time...

    Blowing brake light fuses

We have had this jeep for 2 years and all of the sudden in the past month and a half it has randomly popped the brake light fuse 4 times. Obviously I have a short somewhere but before I start gutting the interior looking for bare wires I thought I would ask and see if there are any known common...

    Dash & tail light help

What did you figure out? I had the connections apart under the dash to do my steering column and now no dash or tail lights? What fuse does the dash lights?

High revs and bad gas mileage now dying

I will check vacuum again. I do get a hissing under the dash occasionally on braking. Booster? Also the vents revert to default immediately after I turn it off, so it obviously isn't holding vacuum that well, but why would it be ok one minute and bad the next, then back to ok if it was a bad leak?

High revs and bad gas mileage now dying

So it isn't the TPS. Replaced with no change. I lean more toward a sensor vs vacuum because of the heat related/intermittent nature of the problem. Would a major vacuum leak not be constant? The stumble will kick in at almost the same point in my commute every day (about 8-10 minutes run time)...

High revs and bad gas mileage now dying

I have a 91 4.0 4x4 auto with some strange symptoms. The gas mileage dropped dramatically and it will intermittently rev to 2-3k rpms for 2-3 seconds with any slight touch of the gas. Even if I barely tap it it will rev then settle back down. This morning after driving about 20 minutes it wanted...

    Gas tank

My 97 does it. 91 does not. Actually rather loud in the cab when you stop and turn it off and the tank is full. like a ball floating around in the tank. Stops after about an 1/8 is burned off. Never had any issue. My 2000 never did that though. so I am not sure what years are like that.

    Renix=slow HO=fast!

My 91 and 97 drive like totally different vehicles. The 91 drives like a jeep, the 97 scoots! Don't know why. When I drive the 97 though I get that taste of power and want more. I keep lobbying for a supercharger kit, but the wife says no. Stock vs stock the HP ratings aren't that different, but...

    prep for winter

Biggest thing I see is the coolant. All of the time in warm climates people get away with topping off coolant with water but when it freezes it expands and will crack an engine block easily. Good time to flush and fill your cooling system with a 50/50 mix of your favorite brand of coolant. Other...

    Dramatic drop in gas mileage

It Does have a suspected head problem as it horribly fouls plugs 1 and 3 as seen from the front of the motor and exhaust gasses are present in the coolant. I run it till it misses then swap the plugs. About 6-8k miles. But it has been in that condition for the last 30k miles still returning a...
