    overhead console, compass and temp. indicators don't work...also heating controls lights on the dash, but that's been off for a while... Thanks for the replies, guys...

    reading is from both.... 14V on the panel is the same as 13.9V on the meter... when the panel reads approx. 12V, the meter reads 12.1V.. it runs at 12v...then clicks and runs at 14V....I do have a code 41...alternator field....but why is it intermittant?....hmmm....

    Hi all, first time here. I have a wierd alternator problem... start it up, voltage shows 12..a few minutes later I hear a click, and the voltage goes to 14...this is happening more and more oftren. doesn't happen as much when it's cold, ie..first start in the morning is usually ok. searched all...
