How has the taurus fan been cooling? I'm mocking up V6 contour fans right now and it looks like 10# in a 5# bag. You have quite a bit more clearance. Did you move the rad forward?

You may have more than one issue. Since the NSS is a common problem, I would bypass it by jumpering the harness. It's free and it rules out one more possibility.
Just make sure you grommet any holes you make. I never ran any sort of isolator when I ran 4 batteries. They will achieve their own equilibrium and act like one large battery.

Your volumes are definitely within measuring error. I always used a set of telescoping gages to try and reproduce specific dimensions throughout the port.
That would need to be a very large T3 to even be worth considering. The largest T3 that I know of came from the t.bird turbo coupe. Do you have some turbo specs? Mustang/Bosch style injector options include 24 & 30# but no 28. Perhaps 28s are from a different vehicle.
