leaky plastic fuel line at hard line special tool needed?

I just had the same problem with my '87 and determined that I was missing some O-rings. I looked around for replacement rings, but couldn't find any sold by themselves. Picked up the whole kit at the dealership for $20. It even had a disposable tool with the rings, spacers, and "quick disco"...

Im having trouble with pumping fast!

I had the exact same problem in an 88 that I bought. There are two hoses at the filler neck, one that the gas goes down and a vent tube that lets the air out thats being displaced by the gas going in. If the vent tube is kinked or blocked you will have exactly the symptom you are describing. It...

    help!!! transmission coolent lines removel

I hope you finished the radiator swap, but in case you haven't.... I would suggest buying the tool to remove the "quick release" connection. I had the exact same problem when I went to replace my radiator and even cut the lines. I found the quick releqse tool one at Autozone for under 5 bucks...

    Front locker handling questions....

Correct Yes, there have been times when it would have been easier if I could have steered without as much effort. That is probably at least partly due to my power steering pump getting tired Yes, soft side hills are different now but with the locker in the rear I don't need to be in 4wd as...

    Neutral saftey switch

Personally I need the idiotproofing. I was much happier to spend the time to clean mine than to risk running over someone or into another car in the parking lot. You will spend the same amount of time and less money taking it off and cleaning it.

Can anyone tell me what this disconnected harness I found is for??

I was looking at an 87 with a 5 speed and found what sounds like the identical wires. My buddy and I (it was his Jeep) went through the Factory Service Manual and decided that it went to the TCU on an Auto. Can't say 100% thats what you're looking at, but it sure sounds similar. Ron 00 XJ...

    Replacing Drag link boot

The repair will be on my 2000. The one I disected was from a friends mid 90's. I wanted to look at how it was all going to fit together before I took mine off. Should I remove the torn boot completely before slipping the replacement on? That makes the most sense, but figured it wouldn't hurt to...

    wtf gives??

I think you may need a "picke fork" or universal puller to seperate them. You can usually borrow one for free at one of the big auto part stores Ron 00 XJ 87 XJ

    Replacing Drag link boot

I have a torn boot on the upper part of my drag link. I had a junk spare link and tried to take the boot off of that one to see if they are seperate units but it seems like its glued to the metal? I found tie-rod end bushings for sale online but can't find any specificly for the drag link. Is...

    Diamond plate rockers......

I'm no expert, but I think I would want something more substantial than diamond plate on my rocker panels. I like the built in sliders that several people have done where they replace rusted out rockers with 2x3 square tube steel. Just a thought, but I live in AZ. I have heard of rust but never...

    YJ Bumper conversion

I currently don't have a front bumper on my 88 XJ. I have the chance to get a free YJ bumper. I assume that this isn't a bolt up item, but does anyone know how much different the mount points are? How lame would it look? I'm out of cash for a while so the price is right. Ron 00 XJ 87 XJ

    More Codes

I had the same problem on my 87. No OBDII on that, just wouldn't pass emissions for an evap leak. There are some vent lines that come off the top of the tank that can get nasty and leak. There are also some lines in the engine compartment that are the same thing. Those are both easy/cheap to...

    CB antenna mounting

That is exactly why the CB shop suggested the center of the roof mount. CB antennas are a ground plane antenna and don't work well without a surface area under them. BUT, if you are only planning on using it on the trail and don't need to get more than a 1/4 to 1/2 mile range then the tire...

    Repair / service manual

I like the electronic format. When I need to do a repair, I print out the pages I need and take them with me. That way when I screw up and spill something on them I don't the entire book with oil or brake fluid.
