    Solid Axle vs. IFS

Cool. Thanks guys, that's kinda what I was thinking. I think if I do decide at some point to buy a new car it will either be another XJ or some year Tacoma 4x4. But rest assured I will keep my current XJ. Which I just changed the serpentine belt on and then took me and the parents on a 700...

    Solid Axle vs. IFS

Hey fellas. Hope everybody enjoyed the holidays. Question: I love my XJ, that's a definate. But I was wondering about the Toyota Tacomas. I know they have a reputation for reliability but wanted to know the real reason/difference for the use of an IFS front end. The Cherokee has a solid...

    New Seats

Interesting. I have a 2000, 4 door. I'll tell you what I'd really like to do is find a nice pair of seats from either a Pioneer or a Cherokee Chief (XJ body not FSJ) and put those in, front and rear. Does anybody know if those can be re-mounted into a Y2K Cherokee? Also, where's a good place...

    New Seats

Anybody ever swap out their stock seats for something different? I want to put in vinyl seats. Does Bestop make vinyl seats for XJs? Or can I buy a set of TJ seats and still use the factory tracks, etc. I don't want anything custom, just a nice normal looking pair of seats, front and rear...

    What could be wrong?

sidriptide- yea that sounds about the same as far as the jerking is concerned, i dont have high idle though. that might be next to come. it jerked real bad on my way home, scared the shit out of me, going 50mph. My dad also thought it might be a weak/damaged ground.

    What could be wrong?

A little help would be great. I have a 2000 4x4 AW4 with some 98,000 miles on it and recently (within the past 3 weeks) it's been giving me problems. The problem only happened on the highway going home from work at 65-75 mph. And it wouldn't happen everyday. I'd be driving along and all of a...

    Vibration at 51 mph

New tires did the trick. 235/75/15 Goodyear Wrangler Radials from Kauffman Tire. I believe it was under 300 dollars.

    Need a suggestion on tires...

BFGs are tight. I want a set. But I just got a set of Goodyear Wrangler Radials (235/75/15) for $285 balanced. I like the tread pattern, looks like a snow tire, nice side lugs too. But Goodyears don't last very long, at least in my experience, and that excludes MTRs.

Too much body movement offroad without swaybar?

I thought Currie only made the Antirock for the TJ and YJ. Glad to see you can get it for the XJ.

Old Man Emu not from Taiwan

Ok, I would've posted this in the Off-Topic forum but I have insufficient something or others. Anyhoo, after reading the thread on junk Emu stuff from Taiwan I emailed ARB in Australia because I plan on buying their suspension kit for my XJ. Evidently ARB has company owned plants in Australia...

    Quiet Catback Systems?

A buddy of mine installed a Gibson cat back on his Tahoe with the 5.3L V8 and it was quiet as hell inside the cab. It sounded stock. And even at the exhaust tips it wasn't loud. He wanted more noise so he went to a Flowmaster American Thunder later on. Which had good throaty sound outside but...

    Dana35 vs. Corporate 8.25

Did any XJs come from the factory with a D44 rearend? And if so were they also up front as well?
