LOL. My father is a pipe fitter, and I find myself trying to fight the upbringing of having to fix stripped, and/or broken nuts and bolts due to tightening the living crap out of everything.

Good one! The fuel pump is going back. Its the fan motor, I tested it with a battery about a year ago and didn't do squat. I called a few junk yards locally, but no one has the electric fan. Apparently it doesn't hold up well in accidents, or so says the junkmen.

Great write up, it really helped me! I did my axle seals today, not too bad. One question; why in the world did you drop the drive shaft? I don't really get that unless it allowed you to inspect something, please enlighten me.

98 XJ, no lift, Moog sway bar end links and bushings. How much torque should I put when tightening down the top nut on the end link. The Chiltons manual says to tighten securely; whatever that means. If your bushings are bad its gonna sway, and conversely if its too loose its gonna sway...

Alright I'll buy it, but I'm gonna make it earn its keep then. I'm off to to do a full days worth of wrenching, then in a few days its "Montana, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It will overheat if I run the A/C and am in stop and go traffic. Is that fan supposed to run at any other times than when the A/C is on? I wouldn't know cus it's never worked. Temp is around 210 degrees normally.

It hasn't worked since I bought my 98 XJ about 4 years ago. I have spent a lot of money repairing all kinds of things that have to be replaced, and a new fan for the assembly is $96.00. Do I really need it? If I turn off my A/C, in traffic I shouldn't have a problem right? Just wondering...

Thanks! Thats what I was thinking in terms of the safety switch and the windows. I'll replace the circuit board and see if that corrects the windows and doors. Just out of curiousity where did you buy the circuit board, and how much did it cost?
