I put 30x9.50x15 bfg at's on my 89' XJ years ago and then jumped up to 3" lift and 31" tires and it cleared quite a bit better. If you can afford a 3" lift, then I would suggest 31x10.50x15 tires if you were willing to get 30's at least with 31's you would have a tire that you could still run...

Good point. These tires are directional, but for 4 wheeling, the lug pattern will cup/grab the rock better. The tire is designed to really dig with its directional "V" pattern, but a reverse of this would cup around rocks in rock crawling situations like I said. I do see many 4 wheeler...

Stay away from blocks, they will destroy your leaf packs over time. If they are OEM leaf packs then it really doesn't matter much. I'd shackle it before I'd block it. The best would be new aftermarket full leaf packs like RE or so, or if you want a cheaper option then build your own leaf pack...

The AW4 is a great tranny lasting 250K+ miles. Just keep it and the 4.0L from getting too hot, do regular fluid changes and they will last.

Good point bustercat. Go as low as you can go with your axle gears as long as they are strong enough, but 4.56 to 4.88's isn't that much difference and not worth the expense.
