Typically TCCs are unlocked on decel to keep it feeling smooth and not like a man trans. Is this lock up light an added on light? Is so then it might be an idea to add a second light on the ground side of the TCC(solenoid 3) with the other end of the light going to ignition or acc pos. That way...

Turn the headlights on, have someone try cranking it, if the light dim out quite a bit then the NSS is working and power is getting to the starter. If the lights don't dim quite a bit then there is not power getting to the starter and I would suspect the NSS or ig switch. The previous poster...

Spiders and side gears only come into play in turns so unless the side gears are flopping loose I would think you got wheel bearing or carrier bearing issues. Maybe pinion bearings. But if it's pinion or carrier bearings going bad then you'll probably also have gear whine. Have you tried...
