Apparently the photos I uploaded were WAY too large. Editing those now.

    96 XJ Cable Identification

Hey all, this feels like such a dumb post but I’m lost. I’ve let it go for a few months since I noticed but I really need to know. I have 3 cables in my engine bay that are unplugged. 2 male connectors, one female. Neither of the males will fit with the female. I have pictures of the three...

96 XJ 4.0 LOW COMPRESSION QUESTION

I actually wasn't sure it was low, but I assumed I'd pick up another 10 or so PSI with the TB open, maybe not. After just reading about compression tests I may have performed mine in error anyways. I had all spark plugs in still except the one that was being tested.

96 XJ 4.0 LOW COMPRESSION QUESTION

I just wasn't sure since it goes into the head if it could leak pressure out and yield low compression. Yeah, it is low for sure, I just really want it to not be a rebuild haha. It isn't losing coolant or anything at all. Maybe the chain stretched with the heat and timing is off or something...

96 XJ 4.0 LOW COMPRESSION QUESTION

I should mention this all happened within 2 weeks. I do not daily drive it, so the timing of things is a little skewed. From over heating to where we are now was probably 1000 miles total. Fiance just reminded me it overheated on her on that trip a second time when we were wheeling. We have...

96 XJ 4.0 LOW COMPRESSION QUESTION

Hey all, I need to give a little bit of back story. 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0, 197k miles. Pretty well modified for wheeling, no motor modifications other than 4 hole injectors. Early last year I bought a sport instrument cluster so I could have real gauges instead of dummy gauges. I then...

    Chirping from Engine Bay

Apparently I need to get better at quoting in this forum, on Audizine it is very similar, just need to adjust and be able to quote all of you in one response. Thanks everyone for the help though! If you have any more thoughts, keep them coming. Starting to feel like maybe I just replace...

    Chirping from Engine Bay

I will also look into this. I need someone to just ride under the jeep while I drive and point at the location of each noise. We do this on the interior for rattles when they come up. That's what girlfriends/fiances/wives are for right?

Also, i chuckled a bit at the Angry Bird noise.... Isn't there a movie coming out for that?

    Chirping from Engine Bay

I am certainly doing this as well. I didn't do a transfer case drop with the lift because i only did 4" which is supposedly the limit, but I know these U-joints don't like the new angles and such. Hopefully, since it is relativiely new I catch it time and don't have to replace them. When I did...

    Chirping from Engine Bay

That is a lot of options, but probably things that I could do and attribute it to being preventative in nature anyways. I know this thing has been beat to hell and run all over so I don't mind doing these things.

    Chirping from Engine Bay

I read this in another thread as well. I will certainly look into it!

You know, that's what I was reading on another post so I will try that first.

    Chirping from Engine Bay

Hello everyone, this is my first post here even though I have had a Cherokee for some years. I have mostly just lurked and never even created a user until today when I couldn't find the issue that I am having The issue that I am having is a significant chirping noise coming from the engine bay...
