Old thread, but my dad had a 95 3500 V10 auto ext cab long bed dually for 15 years. It would get 10mpg. City. Highway. Towing 8000lbs. Didn't seem to matter. With gas hitting $1.55 at the moment, the fact that you can get a Ram of that vintage for 1/2 or less of a diesel, its a good deal - at...
Plan on keeping this keep forever so I got a new CPS and new injectors. Will bag the current one. Brake lines were a good suggestion, mine are looking crusty. Got hex versions of the top two trans bellhousing bolts since those were a PITA.
As someone who has restored a 92 Lebaron GTC Turbo, welcome to the "we love it and know we're never getting our money back" club.
Fantastic attention to detail.
Wow, thanks for the great response! I just bought new mounts (from brown dog, already ordered before post), stant (super)thermostat, cap and sensors. I think I have a spare set of plugs.
I'll get an '00 Durango alt and see if that works.
Can't seem to find the flexplates other than one at...
227k on a 2000 XJ and the ol' 4.0 decided it didn't like one of its piston skirts anymore.
I'm replacing the
alternator (anyone know the compatibility of an upgrade for a 2000, I'm finding a lot of info on earlier ones with different plugs)
Wiring upgrade if so
Starter - just NAPA or is...
Old thread, but I am trying to wire one of these up. This picture here is very helpful, but I can't tell the bottom pins.
Here is what I gather:
Pin 1 - Black
Pin 2 - Pink
Pin 3 - N/A
Pin 4 - VT/LG
Pin 5 - VT/BR
Pin 6 - WT/BK
Pin 7 - Yellow
Pin 8 - N/A
Pin 9 - N/A
Pin 10 - BK/BL?
Pin 11 -...
DE - where did you get that billet aluminum looking filter in the diesel (the green mounts part number comes up as a fuel filter btw)? The donaldson fits the aluminum right? Looking to do this in my XJ. Thanks!!!
Thanks jneary. I put my spare ECU from off the shelf. No issue (except the CEL turned on, I assume from the foreign computer). Put in old computer. Light goes out, idles, take a test drive, all fine. Thing was just messing with me I guess.
My battery died while I was putting in a new trackbar. Charged it up a little, and went to start it. Strong cranking, but no start. Took me giving it some gas to get it to fire.
It idles fine now - unless you are at 0mph. You can be going along at 1mph, but once you come to a complete stop, it...
Alright, so worst case scenario, I might have to have it towed to a locksmith or find one that can do it mobile. Or I have the locks for the good ignition's car doors. Could go either way I suppose. Thanks guys.
I think I just answered part of my question - I had a blank key (as in no plastic covering), just a piece of brass, and it started the Jeep. I let it run for longer than 3 sec and it stayed running. I guess all I need to know now is about the keying situation.
I am looking to buy a Jeep that had its column broken and I have another one out of a cherokee, but was wondering if these XJ's had the passkey system. My key is just black, not gray, but I want to make sure. Also, can columns be re-keyed or do I have to have all the doors/hatch done? This is a...
