    I know what you're talking about. The Moog part K3134T has a notice in the box that states " THIS BALL JOINT DESIGN INCORPORATES A SLIDING STUD WHICH ALLOWS IT TO MOVE IN AND OUT OF THE HOUSING.     8.25 or Dana 44

    I agree that the c-clips don't break very often. I've on seen them break on the drag strip, and it wasn't a jeep either, so if you get a good deal on an 8.8 or simply want to build the Chrysler axle, go for it. I kept my Chrysler axle to put in another Cherokee that has the crappy dana 35.

    I picked up a Dana 44 out of an 89 XJ. The guy I bought it from had already put disc brakes on it. I still have my Chrysler rear axle, and might build it for another XJ.
