I had that cat on my XJ and it was fine while it lasted, but it only lasted 2 years before I couldn't pass emissions and had to replace it.

The emissions technicians at 2 different testing facilities told me that the high performance cat's fail prematurely. Based on my experience, I believe him. If they are as good as factory or even a universal, I'm curious why they don't warrenty them for longer than a year?

Mine held a 31", but that was all street driving. I have a 93' 4-banger, 5-speed that it came on. Someone told me these were not the Jeep factory tire carrier, but rather an option that some dealers offered!?

Put me second in line for the shackles.

I'd check your CPS next, on the bellhousing. Sometimes if you unplug it and re-connect it, you can get it to start. When my XJ had no spark, and was getting fuel, I did the same diagnostics and it wound up being my CPS gone bad.
