Started on My LS1/5.7 swap, into My 01 XJ

Well, I've been driving this ol XJ for almost 10 years since the swap. A few trips over the Rocky Mountai9nst to Utah and back. Lots of routine daily driving. Lots of evolution on the powertrain, cooling system, and many comfort and interior mods. It's been a helluva ride, and I love the damn...

2001 xj wire removal LS swap.

That'll work fine if You don't mind the looks. I ditched the Jeep box, so I could get the majority of my fuses under the rear seat. Only my A/C, fans, and starter relay/fuses are still under the hood.

2001 xj wire removal LS swap.

It's what I did. Takes some time, but it makes for a much cleaner install. I ran a stock GM Delphi ECU for years, but recently reconfigured my wiring. My 6.0 LS is running a Holley Terminator X ECU under the passenger seat, and Autometer gauges.

4.56 gears with 33s= what gas mileage?

Mine has 4.56 gears, and Falken Wildpeak 33' x 12.50", with somewhere around 3" of lift. I'm getting about 16mpg around here, but on the highway, if I keep it below 70, I get around 18....oh, and I'm running a 6.0 LS (LQ4) with a 4l60e transmission. That could have some bearing on the mileage. I...

    Increase performance at speed?

I thought this thread was going in a different direction when I read the title. I have some go-fast ideas, but i wasn't thinking suspension. :repair:

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

Napier Precision flares. They have a facebook page, and are in my area here in Indiana. Good folks, and the owner met me to deliver my flares in His own XJ. https://napierprecisionproducts.com/

Haha! Thanks for the help with the pics. I gotta get on the ball and figure out how to do it.

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

Small one is a power steering cooler. Battery is in the back. I have a pile of parts back there, but I'll try to get a pic when I go out to mess with the tune today.

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

Here's a couple of crappy pics, but it shows where the inlet and outlet are. As you can see, there's a lot of fabrication here. I've cut away the lower radiator support, and reinforced what's left with square tube. Welded mounting tabs on behind the bumper, to locate the radiator at about a 15...

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

I have considered an oil cooler. The header sits too close to the flange of the oil pan where the lines would come out. So the cooling capacity of the radiators will have to get it done. Stock cam, as the heat issued had me concentrating on getting that sorted before making more power. I'm...

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

Running 33" Falken Wildpeaks. Yeah, the 5.7 was an aluminum LS1, and they'll hold up fine. The headers are made by Sanderson, and were sold by Novak for LS swapped XJs. There's cast iron headers available now though on Summitt and Jegs that'll probably work, and will hold up netter. The...

Long time coming. LS swapped XJ back in service.

I've had my old XJ since 2007, and it didn't spend much time completely stock after I got it. I'm no youngster, so sore hands, plus aches and pains everywhere else make the mods I've been working on go mighty slow. I swapped in a 5.7 LS1 some years back, and it was never really, "right" as I was...

I don't remember when I took that pic. Must have been at night. It's pretty grainy.
