    D35 w/ABS to 8.25 Swap Questions

There should be two relays that you can pull to disable the ABS. I believe one is for the front and one is for the rear control. I did a D44 FandR swap on my 2000XJ and kept the ABS functional by having tone rings fitted to new axle shaft. I would think if it was possible for a D44 it should...

Ahhh. Gotcha...makes sense. Hey...totally shifting gears....were do you stand on a turbo kit for an XJ? Your site implies "someday" and that's on my wish list.

    Blown Stroker Finaly Done

Not really a fan of the yellow though. I agree only because with oil misting and the belt dust will make the engine look like a dirty NYC taxi and take a lot of rubbing to stay clean. The complimentary blue and yellow do look slick. Great project ... I admire your perspective of learning...

Wow. I have not explored brake mods yet on the XJ. F350 binders....hmmmm I did not know you could do that. Interesting. Not to date myself but so far the only time I have done rear end impact modification on another vehicle I was 16 in my newish 1983 Toyota 2wd pickup. At the time I am...

I want the option on the street. Now that the CG in the XJ is much higher with the lift I consider ABS a really good thing. I do see the intent of your question. Off road at slower speeds when you don't need or want it I can disable the system by pulling the relays. The best of both worlds...

Robert, Thanks for commenting on this thread. For those that have been following. The G2 Axles did not come with tone rings on the rears. That gave me the opportunity to rethink my choice in axles because I was assured that the G2 would bolt in and my ABS would work for street driving...

Thanks. I am happy with it so far. You bet! All that stuff is will come in time. I was pretty set on an XJ. I like the way they look. The wheel base seemed ideal. The unlimited wheel base seems longer than an XJ.

Agree....I need to hand paint the wheel weights black. I'm glad you brought that up. Does anyone know if there is a reason they don't use stick on weights? I have to think that these are going to pop off if I scrape the wheel against something....I could imagine driving home on hardball at...

First off thanks for everyones input. The plot thickens: When I decided on the G2 set up it is because I wanted the ABS to work F and R for street driving. My sales guy at 4WP told me this would work no problem. Later he called me and let me know the ABS would not work on the rear and that...

Figured out how to post a pic: This is the before and after on the rig with the RE lift.

Sorry, I am so new to Jeeps. Are the specs you referenced better or worse than the stock D30?

Thanks for this post you captured what I was thinking and made me laugh. I actually do have another project that I have been working on for the last 2 years. LS1 conversion into a 1987 Porsche 944S. I am two years into that one its about 80% done. My XJ was not going to turn into that and my...
