There should be two relays that you can pull to disable the ABS. I believe one is for the front and one is for the rear control. I did a D44 FandR swap on my 2000XJ and kept the ABS functional by having tone rings fitted to new axle shaft. I would think if it was possible for a D44 it should...

I agree only because with oil misting and the belt dust will make the engine look like a dirty NYC taxi and take a lot of rubbing to stay clean. The complimentary blue and yellow do look slick. Great project ... I admire your perspective of learning...

I want the option on the street. Now that the CG in the XJ is much higher with the lift I consider ABS a really good thing. I do see the intent of your question. Off road at slower speeds when you don't need or want it I can disable the system by pulling the relays. The best of both worlds...

Thanks for commenting on this thread. For those that have been following. The G2 Axles did not come with tone rings on the rears. That gave me the opportunity to rethink my choice in axles because I was assured that the G2 would bolt in and my ABS would work for street driving...

I was pretty set on an XJ. I like the way they look. The wheel base seemed ideal. The unlimited wheel base seems longer than an XJ.
Agree....I need to hand paint the wheel weights black.
