I just installed Timken bearings on my '99 sport. They were not made in Canten Ohio like my old ones, but are made in Slovakia (1 yr warranty
). Are these any good? It looks like everything is made offshore...maybe I should just be happy that they are not made in China. All I can find online is...
the fan cycles continously at cold and operating temps. My Temp gauge on the dash works fine. I just looked closely at the coolant sensor...the black electical connector of the sensor turns inside the threaded brass base. I think that might be the problem.
My 99 sport Aux Fan comes on for 2 secs and shuts off and cycles like this no matter if the motor is hot or cold. My relay finally broke and I just replaced it. Shouldn't the aux fan only come on when the motor is hot ??
Is there a torque value for the idler pulley. Some say tighten carefully, or lightly ?? The FSM says nothing, just to tighten it. Is it easily stripped?
It does not taste sweet like antifreeze should. It has no taste ....maybe a bit oily & it has to sit over night for anything to be seen on the driveway. Only a small size puddle about 3 " diamter in the snow
Over every bump ie. washboard... I hear a clunk in the rear. I checked the sway bar bushings, shock mounts, exhaust, u-bolts and leaf springs. Nothing seems loose. Not as noticeable when the kids and gear are packed in the back, it is more noticable when empty. Any ideas ??
The dealership topped off my Cherokee with ATF+4, during a maintenance inspection....because that is all they stock now. I'm was going to do a poor man's flush a couple times with the Valvoline Dex/Merc. I was told that it is OK to use ATF+4 with Dexron lll because it is synthetic and won't...
Mounting the thing...just one more issue, don't use those cheap rods that fit between the fins of the condensor (if A/C equipped) & your rad. They will cause leaks down the road. Make-up some brackets and bolt it on. Not sure if already mentioned, but if you don't want your A/C or have a...
