yeah, i put it on clockwise. i put about 2 or 3 wraps on. I guess tomorrow i'll try taking it off and reinstalling it with fresh tape. Should i be using more tape than that?
Also, I don't think I could find a replacement for this at the hardware store cause I had to cut out about 3" of tube...
Who makes it? JB Weld?
I don't think solder will work because there is fluid in the lines and I know when you sweat a joint in copper tubing in a house, you can't sweat it if there is water in the line. Is it different in a tranny line?
I installed tranny temp gauges on both my '98 XJs. The probe manifold on the first XJ installed fine without a leak. The other leaks every so slightly even though I used telfon tape and I can't tighen it any more. Is there any kind of weld cement I can use to seal it up so it won't leak fluid...
Lately, every time I step out of my XJ, I get an electric shock when I close the door. Anybody know if this could be the sign of a problem, or is my a@@ just building up static on the seat?
I was wondering....is there a thermostat on the compressor below which it will not kick on?? In other words...does it have to be a certain temperature outside for the A/C to worK or will the compressor kick on at any temp?
i also have the sender unit placed about 10" from the output on the tranny. i have no aftermarket cooler....yet. i wanted to put the gauge on first to see the benchmark then see how much the temps dropped when i installed the cooler.
I've got a stock '98 XJ, I6, 4x4. I just finished installing a tranny temp gauge with the sensor installed into a sensor manifold in the tranny feed line. I have no tranny cooler. I ran then around town for about an hour/hour and half. Here is what I observed:
Highway: ~150*
City: ~195*...
Has anybody has any luck with these?

well, we're gaining a lot of daylight now this time of year. Sunrise is like at 9am and sunset is at about 5 pm. But about a month ago we were getting about 4 hrs of daylight. Sunrise by 11 am and sunset by 3 pm. We're starting to get normal hours of light and dark. By the time May and June...
Anybody had any luck with these? I think they mount to the inside of the leaf spring packs on the axle and push up on the frame channel. Think they'd work to keep my rig level while towing...
One more question. For the price, I think I'm going to go the helper spring route. I've seen some strings on here where people aren't very happy with the Hellwig. What is the best helper spring for the Cherokee??
