The lift gate on my 89 is stuck shut. When i push one the center button of the lock to open it like it normally would it doesn't feel like there is anything there, just slides in and out and doesn't open. Tried working with the key as well, to no avail.

just so you know, alignment shops ALWAYS quote you for damn near everything in the front end. So don't take their word at face value. I had pretty much the same quote to fix my DW on my XJ. I did an alignment in my driveway with a tape measure and it fixed it.

no junkyards around here have Renix powered jeeps anymore.

is there anywhere that i can get a whole vaccume line kit to just replace all of them? mine are kinda all jimmy rigged, i have a few spliced with hoses, and other things like that.

now it will start and run again, but only as long as im holding the key on. Just like it did when i had to get one of the fusable links replaced.. but it is still not all the way cooled down, so idk.

luckily i just did this! you should post some pics of what you are having problems with though, as im not sure how the rod couldn't point up to go into the switch. Are you putting the top of the column back on right?

put in new map sensor, started and idled just fine! until it reached normal temp. then spit, sputtered and died again, now won't start..
