    (Searched) A/C Heater Vents Problem...

Re: (SOLVED) A/C Heater Vents Problem... Right place, wrong location! That rear most vacuum port supplies all the “climate control” stuff plus several other key systems. Walking it back to all the different “under hood” places it branches to visually, engine off and no spraying . . . I...

    (Searched) A/C Heater Vents Problem...

Thank you! That source line just happens to be right in the path of where I was working to slip the new sensor back in place from the top on my 4.0L manual tranny rig. I'll bet I cracked it bumping into it. Since it's attached directly to a relatively large diameter nipple on the rear...

    (Searched) A/C Heater Vents Problem...

Thank you! I date back to this era and then some, let's just say I'm a bit over the speed limit of most State roadways ways that abse same on Federal Funding. Personally, I prefer something a bit less flammable around engines cold or hot but to each his own! An induced RPM decrease is as...

    (Searched) A/C Heater Vents Problem...

Re: (Searched) Air Vents Problem Reviving an old thread, sorry! My 1995 Cherokee Sport is stuck in bi-level air delivery whether the lever is positioned for panel only, floor only or bi-level. It doesn't matter if vent, heat, max or normal a/c is selected and happens regardless of rpm or...

    1995 cherokee sputering and stalling

My '95 4.0L 5 spd was the CranKshaft Position Sensor, yours may be something else. http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/jeep/4.0L/how-to-test-the-crank-sensor-1 http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/jeep/4.0L/index-of-articles-1 http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1112524

Alright, as stated above the sensor head was in fact too close but it was not molested. The bell housing bolts were all still properly torqued, the dowels still intact, where they should be and there were no signs of any drop, shifting or movement what-so-ever. As mentioned earlier, mine has...

It's fixed and was too close but your are right, that "dumb" sensor does even more than what you listed. I got a good education on the role it plays and will share the links as soon as I can get them together.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, it reads fine cold or when cooled off after a heat soak event, so quickly in fact that I've never been able to get a bad DVOM reading of the 158k melt piece. These things are nothing more than a freakin’ permanent magnet that is wound with wires. When it...

Thanks but just changing a melted Crankshaft Position Sensor turned it from a tire firing rig to a turd, how does that work? Worked on stuff to a compontent level that put nukes where our Military wanted them in the '70s, think Beta testing for our modern Aegis Combat Systems. Appreciate...

Re: CranKshaft Position Sensor Fun I like puzzles too (not the cardboard type) unless I have better things to do! :) Oh, my teen age kid grew up driving it for a year or two back and forth to High School but she is now a 26 year old success story and her tenure behind the wheel is gone...

Well, this certainly is perplexing. I had the old sensor back in it once the melt down was discovered so I could move it to do the deed once the new one and grommet/cover arrived. It ran great, until it got heat soaked and died. Let it cool a few minutes and it would start right up. Finally...

Nope and the sensor tip while melted shows no wear marking on its face.

Re: CranKshaft Position Sensor Fun Finally had time to post up pictures of the melted down sensor, think this was the problem? Here are the tools I used. The extensions and loss proofed 11mm socket (ratchet used to break loose/tighten bolts not shown), piece of coat hanger used to...

    Dropped a bolt in transmission!

Got the replacement cover (P/N 52117660) yesterday for my '95 4.0 5 spd which looks just like the one above, the original disintegrated when pulling the sensor out. Gonna dive in tomorrow, just wondering if there are any gotchas, problems or tricks to installing the new one?
