Gas tanks build pressure on purpose, that is to detect a leak. Drive with your gas cap off for any amount of time and you will get a code saying there is a large leak in the system. Also, if it is warmer out now than when you last filled up the tank, normal expansion will create pressure.

I put these on my 2000 last year, they did raise the backend up a little, and help a lot when I hook up my camper. For the extra little price, I would recommend them. Eric

First check the plate that is riveted under the hood that the cable release pulls on, mine opened really hard and it was just that plate corroding. It finally seized and I replaced it, now the hood release works very freely. Eric

Thats the thing, these are spicers, I dug out the receipt. I pulled the shafts and took them to an axle place to have the ujoints replaced. Maybe they used something else rather than what they charged me for. Eric
