    Electric Fan

This is out of a 2000 FSM, YMMV Electric cooling fan 4.0L: With or without A/C request the electric fan will come on only when the coolant temperature is at least 106° C (223° F), and will remain on until the coolant temperature drops to 103° C (217° F) or below. Regardless of coolant...

    A/C Compressor Clutch Bearing

I actually just did this fix as my bearing was shot. A local NSK dealer was able to get me a replacement bearing with the same number as stamped on the OEM bearing. But it was $40. The fix is pretty simple, and a hell of a lot cheaper than a new clutch, or compressor. Just a tip, I used a...

    Help with axle u-joints

The axle stub with the abs gear is only like $60 at the dealership, might be worth it if you like your ABS. I spun the hub nut when I replaced my ujoints and had to get a new one. Eric

    Muffler repacement help

I just investigated the loud noise coming from my Jeep and found a huge hole in the back of the muffler. Looks like replacement is straight forward, and I have just one question. What is the deal with the connector between the cat and muffler. There are two square flanges that bolt together...

    Gas Tanks Build pressure...

Gas tanks build pressure on purpose, that is to detect a leak. Drive with your gas cap off for any amount of time and you will get a code saying there is a large leak in the system. Also, if it is warmer out now than when you last filled up the tank, normal expansion will create pressure.

    Monroe load leveler shocks

I put these on my 2000 last year, they did raise the backend up a little, and help a lot when I hook up my camper. For the extra little price, I would recommend them. Eric

    Lubing the hood release cable

First check the plate that is riveted under the hood that the cable release pulls on, mine opened really hard and it was just that plate corroding. It finally seized and I replaced it, now the hood release works very freely. Eric

    U-Joints bad again

Thats the thing, these are spicers, I dug out the receipt. I pulled the shafts and took them to an axle place to have the ujoints replaced. Maybe they used something else rather than what they charged me for. Eric

    U-Joints bad again

Nope, no water at all, in fact this is not my DD, and has very few miles on it since I did these last.

    U-Joints bad again

Wow, left out the most important stuff, it is a stock 2000, talking about the front two ujoints at the front wheel hubs here. Hope that clears up my vague post. Eric
