    AW4 Shift pointsng and 31's

4300 rpm too high? At WOT I would expect a shift from say, 1st to 2nd at just below the redline... Andre

    AW4 Shift pointsng and 31's

After fitting 31's my shift point dropped to about 4300 rpm in all gears. Shifting seems smooth, with no slip, just at lower RPM than before. I didn't pay much attention to it because I figured that the control unit might be a bit "confused" with the larger tyres and I was planning to fit 4.10...

    SYE From Existing Yoke? GoJeep?

GoJeep has a great writeup on his site about fabbing a Hack 'n Tap SYE out of a cut down and drilled slip yoke. Is there any reason why you couldn't do this using the existing stock slip yoke? This question obviously only applies to post 96's with the sealed tailcone. Andre

    98 vibes 5.5 inch lift

Sounds like it might be a worn axle U-Joint. Binds up as you turn so less slop and no vibes. Andre

Old Man Emu, OME, Old+Man+Emu, O.M.E. Resource

Jeepdawg, personally I run 934's and JC1A's with a JCXL AAL. If you plan on having a winch and bumpers, even if the winch is removeable, go for the 934's. 930's are great but don't like any additional weight. The 934's are a bit stiffer, but I found that the 930's nose dived badly with the...

Thanks Jeepdawg I didn't even think to verify the pricing. Your post raises the very reason I started this thread - Quadratec (in their defence) call them "Medium Load" and "Heavy Load" OK, so what now? Well, I have my wife, two kids, a dawg, reco gear, a fridge, spares, camping gear...

Old Man Emu, OME, Old+Man+Emu, O.M.E. Resource

The intention of the thread was to provide a resource for XJ OME, not to punt it as being better than anything else. OME springs are made to sit slightly higher in the rear to prevent that old XJ problem of sag in the rear, especially when you put even a small load in. I've run OME930's and...

OK, so even I couldn't read that and I'd typed it! This should be a bit more understandable: Front Coil Springs: OME Part #___Application_____________Rates_______Free Height_____Est. Lift OME930______Light / Standard Load_____160 lbs/inch__18.7"____________1.75" OME930______Heavy...

Old Man Emu, OME, Old+Man+Emu, O.M.E. Resource

I've run Old Man Emu in various configurations on XJ's and TJ's over the years and I'm a great fan. I often see posts on the forum asking for this or that about OME and all to often I see retailers making a hash of OME specifications. So, as a community service, I've put together a list of XJ...

Can someone comment on my buildup plan??

Don't use the HD leaves (JC2A) unless you tow a big boat or carry hugely heavy loads. The HD leaves are actually softer than the mediums but have an overload leaf. HD's also give about 1" less total lift and the overload leaf substantially reduces flex. If you want lift and flex but need to...

    Libby Axle under XJ Do-able?

Fabbing a rear coil set-up is well beyond my skills level. That said, it might be something to look into if I can find someone to help in SA. I checked on the Libby discs - Definitely introduced on YM05 but YM05 build started in August 2004 so a '04 with discs is possible. 3.73 gears are...
