My rig just died on my for the last time. The other day i was going to work. At the stop light I put it neutral, then went to shift into first and nothing. The spring feel and feeling of being in gear has been slowly fading over the last 2-3 weeks. Now the shifter just floats around in complete...
Finally getting around to doing the full tune up today. Got both fuel filters, a new air filter, plugs, cap and rotor and some injector cleaner. Need to pick up the new wires and am wondering if the 8mm are even worth it? The whole point of this tune up is to eliminate a mis-fire that is causing...
Ugh, well just got it all put back together. The grinding noise is still present, but its not nearly as noticeable. A certain part of the drum is catching at the top of the backplate. I can see where the grinding has taken place between the drum and the backplate. Only question is how do I make...
Anyone know the torque specs for the 4 bolts holding the axle shaft in? The ones that go through the drum backplate and through the retainer plate on the axle. Also I just noticed that I bent the lower portion of the backplate. I'm gonna leave it for the time being get it all back together and...
Took the rig into les schwab and had them replace the bent wheel as well as do a free inspection on the rear end. They told me the only thing I managed to break was the rear axle shaft, which I only bent. Now the hunt begins, I've been calling all over and cant find one thats used :(.
Just had some asshat brake check me the other night for no reason. Needles to say I lost it; I ended locking em up and doing a 180 into the curb. Severely bent my rim, to the point that its touching the leaf spring and is almost at a 30 degree angle. I just picked up a spare today and threw it...
Alright, plugged it last night. After joe replied I realized I had the plug and MAP sensor in the wrong holes. Switched them and the gas smell has gone and I have power back. I'm still having issues, inconsistent rpm with occasional jumps. When I start to accelerate sometime it will bog down and...
Just replaced the MAP sensor last night, all the problems are still present. I noticed something kinda weird. The grommet that the vacuum line from the map sensor connects to in the throttle body has 2 holes. One has the vacuum line plugged in and the other is just an open hole. I plugged it...
Alright, my beast is being a PITA yet again. Currently its running extremely rough. Similar to how an old 454 with a carb would run, chugging i guess would be the correct word. There's a strong gas smell constantly and I'm getting horrid MPG, around 7-10 depending on how i drive. Also I've lost...
Oh that reminds me, ive been having issues with my idle as well. Sometimes it will idle really high. Sometimes its only 1500 other times it can go up to 2200rpms. It varies how long it does it. Sometimes it will go away after 10 min our could last the whole 40 min trip to work. I would say it...
I'm gonna do a full tune up this weekend, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filters, air filter and vacuum lines, plus check the cylinder compression. Is there anything else I should do for the tune up?
