I thought you were talking about the time to lower them, not the loss of clearance. Didn't you also gain a bit of lift when installing them to make up for that?
This is correct. Only the 94+ trucks got the strong NV4500, NV5600 or G56 trans. The first gen manual is not as robust as these but is still by far better than the 727 or 46rh that the auto 1st gen trucks got.
The upside of the 6.5 is that they came with the NV4500 or a 4L80e. Both of these...
I was doing some researching on these and planning to buy a set for my XJ when I ran across a mention of the new updated version that as in the works. I shot a message (rather several) over to Brian and squeezed some info on them out of him. The new ones are going to fit inside of the stock hole...
I know that the 98 has 2 speed sensors where the 97 only has one and that the 98 has different pulses. My 98s transmission died and I found a 97 for sale locally. Would this be easy to just put these two sensors on it and swap it or is it fairly involved and easier to just keep looking for a 98+...
I checked the ones by the PCM and engine block several times. I checked the firewall one as well but can check it again.
Where are the ones under the dash panel located?
The 98 4.0 cluster has a few things basically indicator lights like the hatch open light that work. The 2000 2.5 cluster just says no bus and has a check engine light.
Anyone out there that is better at electronics/wiring than me or has the wiring diagram for the different years? It is not fun trying to wheel a vehicle that has no temp gauge and I cannot drive it on the street with no signals or lights.
I swapped both harnesses from the engine bay but not the one behind the dash. I am trying to use the 98 gauges with no luck. The 2000 gauges throw a check engine light and says "no bus"
2000 Jeep Cherokee - was a 4 banger 5 speed and is now a 6 cylinder auto. I swapped both harnesses from the engine bay over (engine and harnesses are all from the same 1998 model - everything worked great before), but left the dash harness from the 2000 in it.
It cranks and runs great. I just...
