    Ring Gear for Starter on Flywheel 2.1 td (1986XJ)

    The title says it all. 1986 Jeep Cherokee with a factory 2.1 turbo diesel (Renault J8S 814) is wanting a new (ish) ring gear. I'm in MI 48138

    Well, it is 16 years later and I have the same issue wrt removal. MUST the motor mount come off for starter removal? Anyone who has done the starter removal? RSVP
