Squirt test only...and it turns out it does not always even squirt although pump is running... So I am thinking it is pump or clogged fuel filter...is there even a fuel "filter" anyplace on a 98??? Crank position and Cam position sensors seem to function given my "backyard beer bottle...

Also just tried with Cam position sensor...works with wet sock when connected..no work if disconnected

If CPS unplugged it will NOT run with my wet sock trick...so it is not that...

Hi! Hope someone who knows XJ's makes short work of this riddle: It is a 98 XJ auto, 4.0, 4x4, 132K miles, and it is in nice shape. Drove home from work 32 miles after fill up, through some stop and go traffic for 15 min, stopped for iced coffee....started it up and drove the remaining 1 mile...

Fixed...for now....with a finish nail. Just made an "8" shape bent so the "o's" are 90 deg to each other. Meticulously sized so it just sorta snapped on then crimped a bit with vice grips. Works good for now after a week of driving. More permanent fix coming involving threading cable end and...
