Found unused Courtesy Lamp Sockets for kickpanel lights and I have Questions

When I added the footwell lamps to my 95 SE, there were connectors but no bulb sockets. I picked up the sockets and two cheesy metal brackets from the junkyard for a couple of bucks. The brackets mount with one screw for each side.

    Quick Disconnect Stuck

I couldn't get mine disconnected because the tool was too shallow to push the release. Since I'm too cheap to actually go out and buy another set of tools just to get one size, I took a dead felt tip marker and split the case in half (the I.D. was almost identical to the O.D. of the trans...

    Lighted vanity mirrors

If your Cherokee isn't prewired, when you replace your harness with one from a donor vehicle with illuminated mirrors be aware that you must disconnect the origional harness from the dome light unless you want to do a little splicing. When you pull it out be sure to tie a string around the dome...

Anyone self-install a Remote Start system?

Our boss occasionally "gives" a customer a remote start/keyless entry system when they purchace a van from us. We use the Audiovox systems despite the fact that Chrysler offers a plug and play remote start for the Caravan/ Town&Country and this system is only about $10 higher. It usually takes...

Where can I buy XJ starter motor brush kit ?

The rebuild shop I used to work for might be willing to ship you the parts if you really want to do it yourself and you don't have access to a local rebuilder. They usually don't sell just parts alone, but they are always willing to help whenever they can. You can reach them at 865-777-0716.

    Prelude Seats

If you dont mind fabricating your own brackets I can get you 2nd row "sto-n-go" seats from Chrysler corp. mini vans and occasionally front buckets. They should be cheap and usually we will trade for anything useful (beer etc..) and they are in Knoxville TN. PM me and let me know what color you...

lol... a Celica question... will i get flamed too? need OLD SCHOOL guys:)

Another Proud XJ owner whose garage is also occupied with a Classic RWD Celica. No rice here either. Stickers are for the tool chest, wings are for dinner with draft beer, and coffee cans are for coffee.

    Toyota truck EFI Question.

Hey I actually know a little about this subject since I was a strictly Toyota guy untill I bought my 95 XJ. The 1985 was the most desirable year for the Hilux/4Runner because you could get the straight axle and fuel injection (if so equipped.) 1986 was the first year for IFS. Fuel injection...

    Brembo rotors...

I remenber seeing a stock replacement rotor from Brembo for about the same price (I don't remember where). I would have ordered them, but I couldn't wait. The previous owner of my XJ was content using the onboard brake lathe for a few weeks after the pads were gone.

    Newbie Help

If it isnt under your back seat (the part where your butt goes, not the back) Then it is gone. I'm sure someone in here has one that they would give you if yours is AWOL.

    Heater Problem

Somewhere there is a decent write up on replacing the thermal fuse on the blower resistor pack. (Do a search, the link is here somewhere) When my 95 did the same thing, I went to the local electronics supply store and picked up a thermal fuse for less than $2 including tax. It takes only a few...

    O2 Sensor Question

The Check Engine light hasn't come on for a few days now. I guess time will tell if the problem appears again.

    O2 Sensor Question

A couple of months ago I would get an intermittent code 21, so I decided it would be time to replace the 160k old oxygen sensor. No more occasional MIL light and picked up 3mpg to boot. Last week I get the infamous no start. I immediately replaced the crank position sensor (one long...

    Can't turn jeep off.

If I understand your post correctly your engine continues to run, not the starter perpetually trying to crank the engine. If this is the situation do not waste your time crawling under the Jeep to pull the starter. We have seen cars in our shop with incorrect alternators causing them to "run...

    New Alternator for extra lights?

The shop foreman at the starter and alternator shop that I work for (whose opinion I trust and respect) says most people who get high amp units built really dont need them. How often will you be driving at night with all of the lights on? Watch the voltmeter, it will tell you if you really...
