OT - Removing decals from a fire truck

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! BTW, my 16 year old son votes to leave the stickers on. He thinks that they're cool. 8)

    The scumbag is back

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this again, Rich. Our home was vandalized on two consecutive nights last July. We suspect that it was my second daughter's ex-boyfriend, but he and his pencil necked buddies all covered for each other with alibis. They are all 18-19 years old...

OT - Removing decals from a fire truck

I have a 1983 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 to play in the mud with. I bought it from a fire department, and besides the snazzy red paint job, it has big reflective fire department decals along each side. I'd like to remove these, but they have been on for 22 years and show no sign of wanting to peel...

Lifting and tires idea, and I'd appreciate your opinions

2001 XJ, auto, stock except for RIGID front bumper. I'm about to hand the XJ over to my 16 year old son, and he wants a lift and tires. He is on a budget, and while he wants to go "higher and bigger", he is constrained by finances as he will have to pay for all mods himself 100%. He wants a...

    Rear wiper switch broken

My son noticed that the rear window wiper switch in in the 2001 XJ is broken. It was just hanging loosely down until I started trying to move it around, and now it is pushed back and loose in the faceplate/dash/console. I can't find any screws to remove the faceplate where the switch is...

    My bit of Irresponsibility :)

I don't try things like that in the XJ, but do have a 2004 Chevrolet Duramax diesel with a few performance mods that is fun to play with ricers in. If they tailgate, I can roll into the throttle and soot the heck out of them. If they want to run from a stoplight, they get killed (and sooted)...

    Vandalized gas tank

I appreciate the very generous offer, but I'm a pretty good distance from you. Hopefully I'll be able to have it cleaned out, or find one in a boneyard.

    Vandalized gas tank

There was an empty water bottle with brown sugar residue in it under the rear tire, and broken egg shells, yokes and peanut butter in the filler neck opening. Thanks. I'm hoping for the best (and cheapest). Bud

    Vandalized gas tank

Vandals hit the XJ this past week. They poured brown sugar, water, eggs and peanut butter down the gas filler neck. I did not start it, disconnnected the battery so that the fuel pump would not operate when the key was turned and had it towed to the shop. My question is, how extensive will...

    HANDGUNS for self defense...

I echo the recommendations of a 12 gauge shotgun. You can get a reliable Winchester 1300 or Remington 870 for around $250 brand new. You and your wife will need to spend some time at the range familiarizing yourselves with it using light target loads. Load it up with #4 buckshot and you are...
