    Mounting a Tow Bar

Hi all, I would like to tow my 96 XJ behind my RV. I want to use Harbor Frait or equivalent Tow Bar. To mount the Tow Bar I want to use the commonly avaliable tow hook mounts, like these: http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...ok-kit-xj.html However, I can not find any adapters that will bolt...

    Suspension Lift Questions

Hi Guys, I am some what new to jeeps, and to lifting them, so I had a question or two. I got the jeep with what I think to be a 3.5 inch spring lift in the front, and a 2 or so inch lift in the back using an add-a-leaf system. I wanted to even it out a bit. To do so I got some longer shekels...

House coming out from the top of the Transfer Case?

I have a house that attaches at the top of the transfer case, and looks like it's supposed to go to the front of the car. But mine looks like it broke off, and is just hanging around the exhaust pipe. Any idea where it's supposed to connect to. It's a 231 case. Thanks for the help. - Bogdan

    tailgate struts

Hi guys, I just replace my tailgate struts with new Gates struts. The new struts take for ever to open, because of the shock observer function, were they slow down when they decompress. I hate it. I am a fan of those struts that try to hit you in the face as you open the back. Any idea which...

Where is my Full Time 4H?

Re: Wear is my Full Time 4H? Thanks for clearing everything up. It seams to me that 231 would be stronger at least in theory. You know, less parts means less things to brake. On the other hand, having a differential in the middle is kind of nice for rain conditions. It does not get much worse...

Where is my Full Time 4H?

Re: Wear is my Full Time 4H? So, basically, it's just a 50/50 split in part time, front and rear are locked? That's what I am getting from the forms. While full time has a center diff? That's poor naming if i ever saw one. :) Does the full time transfer case uses a real diff or a clutch and...

Where is my Full Time 4H?

Hi guys, I was a short time 89 XJ Limited owner. Got one for $750, but sold recently because it was just using apart. Ever since I upgraded to a 96 XJ 4x4 with 5 speed. On my 89 I had a 2H, 4H Part Time, 4H Full Time, and 4L. On the 96 I don't seam to have 4H Full time. What does that mean...
