    D44 Drum hitting shoe

My backing plates were primed and painted, would this throw the shoes off that much and make them hit the drum?

    D44 Drum hitting shoe

I have a d44 that I just rebuilt. Has brand new rock auto cylinders, springs, pads, drums, linkage, cables and so on. The axle is off the vehicle, I have it suspended from my cherry picker. I threw on my wheels and the driver side has some friction to it but the amount is normal, the passenger...

Guess I'll have an extra axle for when the time comes. Thanks again everyone.

    4.0 trashed idol/stalling issue

Check timing first, then upgrade to neon injectors and clean the intake manifold and throttle body. Also check for clogged catalytic converter if you have one.

Going rate for an 88 XJ dana 44 rebuilt?

Picked up a XJ dana 44, planned on putting it in but might just stick with the 8.25 29 spline. I ordered all new bearings seal, hubs, drums and brakes. What's the going rate for a remanufactured axle? Heard 300-400 as is, 500-600 for rebuilt. Thoughts? All parts are timken and centric. Thanks!

    First Post

Welcome! I'm up in the AV always looking for people to wheel with. If you have the tuner bug then your Jeep will drain you quick lol. I was a big fan of imports before my Jeep. Good looking vehicles you got too. The general populous goes 33" tires, 3-6" of lift from my research. Go big at first...

    Fun country 33's YES!!

Thanks! I really got lucky with the wheel/tire combo. Was stationed in Alaska for 6 years and I'm a resident there so I got Alaska plates. Not a huge fan of California emissions/dmv fees.

    What's your favorite tool?

I've been hit a couple times with the socket flying off. Worth it though to get in those tight areas.

    What's your favorite tool?

60 gal compressor. With it I can do anything. Then comes my Ingersoll-Rand impact with impact wobble. Then the BFH if all else fails.

WTB: 33" or 35" tires with 15" wheels

I'll take anything at this point. Waiting on 33's but could do 31's or 32's. Don't want to spend over 50/tire.
