I'm 99.9% sure the nut isn't broken, I can still thread it in if I tap the bolt in and turn it. It turns with some effort but not much, and only comes out so far.
I'll remove the shackle then give it a go like you said.
Thanks
I need some ideas on removing the front spring-to-frame rail bolt. Its sticking out about 1/4" and it won't come out any further. I think its stick in the bushing. Any ideas?
1999 Cherokee, stock springs
On my jeep they are 13/16.
I'm also replacing my rear leaf springs and have a problem: The front bolt that goes through the bushing is stuck in the rubber bushing. How would one get it out? Is there a hole on the other side of the frame rail I that can knock the bolt out, that I'm missing...
Most 4.0's have a lifter noise after so many miles. I would replace the lifters and if the cam is badly worn, change that at the same time (Only if the lifters and/or cam show galling). Never re-use lifters. Proper valve adjustment is key getting it right and its not all that difficult.
Piston...
That could be a problem :gee:.
I would think the distributor gear is broken, or the timing chain is broke. The cam turns the distributor, the cam turns from the timing chain.
Its not the relay, the issue is the incoming power to the starter relay. It can be jumped at the PDC with a small wire. (Keep in mind I have no FSM)
What should I do next?
Thanks 5-90, you always give the details! The smell was really strange, it was similar to burning wire/electronics but kinda sweet smelling. I exchanged the old starter last night for a new one and it didn't help anything. I didn't check the leads at the solenoid yet becuase when I went to grab...
