hey guys, i read through a lot of this thread and its really helpful. im doing this mod mid to late summer hopefully, and i was wondering what kind of front lift ill get from 3" lift rear packs for an XJ, if they could be used for the front, and what if anything needs to be done to the steering...

i got word back from skyjacker themselves (suprisingly) anywhere from a month to three months settling time, and they should settle to 3" although theyre rated for 2.5 i like my 7000 series hydros, at least i dont pull the rings open every time i flex... bottom line anything built for off road...

meh my stock springs ride like crap... so if my 3" pakcs are running like 4 theyll; probably go down to three or so eventually? i know what you mean, i dont know why they get bad rep, ive seen their suspension components for the 8" complete lift, and i gotta say i dont think ive seen any...

dunno how new this thread is i found it on search... i just put in 3" skyjacker superride leaf packs and hydro 7000 shocks... it stis closer to 4" maybe a little more, is that normal for these packs? how much will they sag (if any) i gotta say as well i really like my skyjacker suspension...

yeah, v8 limited. it had the country package so instead of a regular v8 coil i got a 1" lift v8 coil so i ended up with 2" it doesnt hurt that the springs still had the factory tags on them

so i got my lift in, zj coils up front for exactly 2" lift and aal out back that ended up around 2 1/4. the new 31's went on the stock rims with very little issues, tiny bit of rub at lock and some more fender trimmimng is needed, few things i overlooked. but heres some pics my...

is there anything to be watchful for when welding to the axle tubes? can too much penetration screw your tubes up, or is it a pretty safe venture? wow that last sentence sounds waaaaaay wrong

i had to replace the DS front floorpan, siliconed it down with a few rivets, and took out that G.D. felt pad under the carpet which was causing all the rust, stupid thing was soaked through... my floor is still going strong after six months with the new floor pan, no rust yet

scuff it good, paint it and run an oxy-acetylene torch through each tube for a few minutes, itll bake the paint on (if its high heat enamel) that way it wont all flake off when you actually run it. although most header paint comes off eventually anyways.
