... And now for the happy ending. Found a different JY today and got a switch assy for $25 bucks. Don't know that I'll go back to that place again, but that is a different story. Cleaned the new one and greased all of the slides up and installed it. Works perfectly.
Ya. I may call around to another junk yard. That's all that I am looking for is trade me fro a different one within a week or so. Thanks for the input. I will post an exciting conclusion to this story later in the week.
BTW, I have owned this jalopy for the last 6 or 7 years and drove it daily for about 5 of them. It is the spare rig right now and this has happened since last winter.
Oh ya...it's a '93. I have pulled out the whole assembly and gave all of the connectors a hollywood tune up. Nothing looks burnt, melted or otherwise. There was a bit of crud on the connector pins but not much. The vacuum box looked pretty clean. I was thinking the speed switch for a minute but...
I've done a fair amount of searching and haven't seen this particular problem. My blower motor works well at all speeds until I switch it to defrost and then it stops. It Sometimes stops at vent and heat as well but with a little bit of moving the selector around they will work. Never defrost...
The studs that hold the dome light in screw into the bracket that is spot welded to the roof. The studs on the domeligh in the sound bar are actuall longer than the ones for the dome light w/out the sound bar. I pulled them at the JY when I got my sound bar.
I recovered my sound bar and...
Is it bouncing around or just reading zero? Mine was working part time and when it was working it would bounce around a bit. Other times it would say that I was doing 70 mph or something crazy when I was doing much much less. I checked all of the things mentioned above. I finally replaced the...
I had this problem with my '93 when I got it, and one of the main places it was coming in was down the antenna wire through the inner fender where it comes into the cab. The gasket was shot. I jumped through alot of hoops too trying to find and seal up the leak. You're going to laugh at this but...
I replaced motor mounts last fall so I am assuming that they are okay. Trans mount looked good at the time. I'll check them all again. I was kinda thinking flex plate myself but I wasn't sure what I needed to do to get to it. Thanks for the input, Joe.
'93 4.0L 4WD- When I get on it hard from a stop, I hear a noise like a rotating part brushing against sheet metal. It goes away after I let off or after about a second. Only from a dead stop though. Sounds like it is coming from the transmission area. Anyone????
A penguin drops his Jeep off at the local mechanic to check out an oil leak. The mechanic tells him that he will put it up on the rack and to come back in an hour to pick it up.
So the penguin decides to go next door to the Dairy Queen and get an ice cream cone to help kill the time.
When...
I'm liking the magnetic signs.
A few years ago I came into work early and taped down the button that pops up when you pick up the phone.....on all of the phones in the building. So when a call comes in and the phone gets picked up, it still rings and isn't answered. I saw a few disconnected...
I need help. Last year I brought a package of vanilla oreos to work. Just before lunch I opened them up and started scraping out the creme filling and replaced it with colgate toothpaste. If you are going to try this, I only 'modified' half of them as the consisency of the filling isn't the same...
