The one in the head is for the gauge and nothing else. Check your ignition system, air filter, EGR valve, etc.
I think Renix has a knock sensor in the block, that would make sense.
Hello, Modified Tech Discussion.
I have a 1989 Cherokee with a bad engine and rear end. I have a 98 ZJ Limited for parts. I wish to build the XJ from the ZJ utilizing as much as possible on a minimal budget. Here's a few things I have in mind to utilize:
D44a and all it entails, on leaf...
It came from the factory with a bushing which deflected a little, I don't think that's it. I also don't think an expensive stabilizer is any better than a cheap one in terms of initial performance. Have you tried driving without it? See if it gets exponentially worse or stays about the same.
I...
Buy a set of 17" steel wheels for a Magnum/Charger. Lot easier to find spares on the road. Tons of ten ply all terrains to chose from in 17 inch.
I've yet to build a 97-01 but I find four inches of lift is where you need to start accommodating things.
Well, I would have imagined the cast iron manifold in my 96 was a hold over from previous years, but yours does list a packing. None listed for mine, and it sounds like it at idle.
The O'reilly site loads but doesn't go anywhere from there for me.
If yours still has the remote reservoir for...
They're so common, they have to have some little unique touch to make it theirs. So many at the grocery stores, malls, etc. Kind of embarrassing when you stick your key in the wrong one.
So you're running the ZJ ECM?
How is that wired in? Where? I used a complete late model wiring harness on both sides of the bulkhead, and only cut the body connectors off to connect it to the rest of the Jeep. I have the whole late model dash harness, and all splices were soldered.
You changed...
I've never seen an exhaust donut before and I've owned several different years. Only cut the exhaust off of the V6 models so couldn't tell you about them.
Should you remove the intake, be sure to check the flange with a straight edge, and use blue loc-tite.
My 86 has one, but it came with everything else from a 92. The way I built mine, it's a 92 from the dash forward, the tub is irrelevant. When asking a technical question, I would use the year pertinent to the parts in question.
My 2.5 couldn't seem to hold manifold bolts for long, and as such, it needs a new gasket. No fog machine required, just spray carburetor cleaner around the manifold while it idles and note any change in sound.
You might put a wrench to the manifold bolts, it's possible they're finger tight...
