Fuel pump not turning on right away

Well here's something interesting. It is apparently temperature related. It's now in the 60s-70s here and the jeep starts fine. It still takes a couple of seconds but that's to be expected.

Fuel pump not turning on right away

From one beater to another, thanks for the help! haha I am certain it's the pump turning on. It's a familiar sound and the only thing in that back that would make that sound. As with most cars/trucks it used to do it when I turned the key on without starting the engine but it doesn't anymore...

Fuel pump not turning on right away

I've got a starting problem that seems to be getting worse with time. It now takes about 10 secs of cranking before my '89 4.0 XJ will start. The problem is the fuel pump isn't coming on right away like it should. After cranking for a while you can hear the pump turn on and then it starts...

Are all OEM Jeep wheels interchangable?

Thank you. On another note, would anyone happen to know of a list that has model years and names to corespond with all the chassis codes? I'm new to the Jeep scene and it seems like eveytime I get on here there's another *J model. I'm waiting for the BJ to pop up! hahaha

Are all OEM Jeep wheels interchangable?

I did a search but couldn't find my answer. Are OEM Jeep wheels interchangable between models? Thanks, Brandon

'97 Grand Cherokee part out questions

I found a guy locally who is parting out a '97 Grand Cherokee for super cheap. I don't know what motor or trans is in it yet but I was wondering what parts would be transferable or considered upgrades for my '89 4.0l, 5sp, 2WD XJ? Thanks, Brandon

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH Looks like it was the CPS afterall. It must have been just gone enough to royally screw with me. I also cleaned all my electrical contacts as well. But the big hunk of Jeep is back on the road, much to the worriement of other drivers...

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

I've got a new CPS ordered, hopefully that will do some good. At least I know that once I get this thing running I have all new sensors! haha:clap:

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

The CPS was at the very low end of the suggested range but most of the problems I have read about with the CPS were non-starting issues. I have been tempted to just replace it though. I've been going back over all the things I've done and especially things I did before the problem started to...

But if the head warped, wouldn't that cause bad compression? My compression checked out fine.

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

Is the chain jumping a common thing? That still just doesn't sound right to me though. Since I initially thought it was a fuel issue and that was ruled out now I think it might have been more of a heat issue because it only started running like this while idling after driving around for a...

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

Well, I officially don't have anything clogging my exhaust and I finally got the rotor to move one tooth over but that didn't help anything. It did the same sputtering, back-firing, popping out the intake thing but now also tried to die every couple of seconds or so. Could something in the...

pulling hair out over dist indexing.

I'm having an issue with mine right now. It's the exact same Jeep and my distributer looks the same as that first picture. The thing will start and idle smoothly but won't rev over about 1k rpms. It just starts bucking and popping out the intake. I tried adjusting the distributer but just...

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

Holy crap this thing is driving me crazy! :skull1: I tried to adjust the distributer but it just keeps ending up in the same place. I've got the timing mark on the crank at 0 as per the haynes manual. I also adjusted the oil gear drive slot that the distributer seats into to try some...

About to call it quits and part the damn thing out. Please help!!

Well, it's not the cat. There's nothing blocking it and I even started the Jeep with the exhaust disconected from the cat back and it ran the same, just much louder. I decided to check the timing next. I followed the directions in my Haynes manual for finding TDC. The rotor is not pointing...
