Last week I posted about a coolant problem where the pressure bottle ('88 4.0 auto renix engine) was filling up then leaking from under the cap. After a new bottle (tried 2 plus about 4 different caps) , new rad,and new thermostat, I still have the same problem. It takes about 10-15 mins to fill...

Ecomike, The top 2 coolant hoses are in the proper place as fluid is coming into the side top of the bottle and out the bottom. I asked about doing the head gasket, thinking I will work on it when I can and would just like to have it done by fall/winter or whenever it gets too cold to work on...

Ok , I`ve tried Bar's Head Gasket Fix (roughly $30 bottle) and still no go. I even replaced the pressure bottle with my spare bottle (brand new). She just keeps on filling up the bottle in 12-15 minutes and the cap then releases fluid. Is there anything other than a head gasket leak that can...

I have already done this , still no go. Tomorrow I will go out to look for some Fiber Pills for the heap.

Radiator ($325 for plastic/aluminum) + labor + tax = $680. They said one side of the radiator was significantly hotter than the other , indicating a blockage in the old one. They do know the vehicle as the last owner used the same shop. This is the second radiator they have installed in it in 4...

Are we taking about a head gasket leak as Ecomike suggests or a leak elsewhere in the cooling system?

Antifreeze is prediluted 50/50 . The temp of the coolant when she blows, I don`t know.

Current bottle and cap in the heap are brand new (from Quadratec). The thermostat has the copper plug/valve in toward the engine block.

Almost forgot this an '88 4.0l automatic if needed. Full stock.

Is the bottle supposed to completely fill while running? There is not any air space left when it blows. I have never noticed it more than a little over half full when running. I have a spare bottle/cap and did replace the cap just in case I had a bad cap. I have also burped the system each time...

I am having problems with the coolant bottle spraying out coolant after 10-15 mins of running. I took in to the shop and they said the radiater was clogged - ok $680 and a new rad. and it is still doing the same thing. They said a new thermostat would be the next thing to replace . I did this...

The cost to have my local Jeep dealer to do the oil pan gasket is $500. The cost for a local independent garage using an OEM pan gasket is $350. Any way you slice this jeep needs work.

The dealer just told my father they would no longer hold the vehicle ( He wanted to wait until monday). The $500 deposit was refunded and they said they have someone else who is looking to put money down today. I would still like to hear what everyone has to say on the reasons for an oil leak...

The dealers reply to not just doing the work (on one other thing too) is that they just dropped the floor price down $2000. It was advertised at $2000 higher at the beginning of this year. The other thing they won`t do is fix the headliner as is starting (about a 1' circle) sag over the drivers...

My father is looking at a 2000 classic (4.0 auto 4x4). Their is an oil leak coming down from the back of the pan. I thought maybe it was coming from the rear main seal but the dealer says it just coming from the pan gasket. This cherokee only has 44,000 miles on it and I can`t find any marks...
