That was a blast! This year's course was the toughest yet. There and back over the obstacles in under 15 minutes.
The rig took a good beating. I broke a bunch of stuff halfway through but kept going. Finished 3rd in class.
It was good to meet you Steve. I also met up with quite a...
The running order is drawing a number out of a hat. I pulled the fourth starting position, so my turn was early in the day. Wish you could have been there to see the run.
I'm tentatively registered in modified right now, but the final decision will be made during tech inspection the morning of...
The first DWE competition I attended was in 2005 as a spectator. I made my mind up right then and there, that I would be back next year to compete.
Built my rig, and took a 2nd place finish in the modified class in 06. I'm already registered for this year's event. Can't wait.
It's a great...
Like radardog said, weld the roof to the tubes when the cage is done.
Check out my post in this thread: 3rd page, 4th post down.

The front is an exo. It ties into the main hoops through the roof, and down into the 2x6 rockers.
Pic of the exo:
And it has been well tested. Held up perfectly with zero deflection. Only the tail light didn't make it.
I Built the interior cage from the B-pillar back, then the exo with the tubes connecting the two through the roof. The roof metal was a tight fit to the tubes and was fully welded shut after the cage was welded. I was able to get full welds on all joints inside and out. I had to use my 110v mig...
I agree with those that say that an exo will help keep your rig from being heavily messed up in a rollover. Unless you roll over in a smooth parking lot, you should still excpect some cosmetic sheetmetal damage. I also agree with those that say that an internal cage, or at least some type of...
Give Pete a call at Ct Axle Service.
He installed lockers & gears into my hp30/44, my hp60/14b, and regeared my tow rig. Many members in my club also have had work done by him and are very happy.
Great work, at a great price. Quick too.
I'd rather not post what I paid, but a quick call to him...
The races are this Sunday! You don't want to miss this.
It's the last one of the year. These guys will be racing all-out since they will have all winter to rebuild their rigs. :looney:
Come on out to the races in Southwick, MA sponsored by Central Connecticut Four Wheelers on Sunday, October 22nd. Lots of 4x4 racing action. Jeeps, trucks, and buggies race wheel to wheel on a track designed for motocross.
Stop by and meet the people of NEJEEP, and show your XJ or MJ off in...
I have the Ruff Stuff covers on the front and rear of my rig. HP60, 14B.
They laugh at rocks. :laugh3:
I like the RS covers since they're 3/8" welded steel, and can be modified easily. I plan on shaving the gear and housings in the off-season, and the RS covers can reworked to fit.
