Definately a safety issue. And very dangerous.

When removing any steel line with steel nuts. A little trick i learned is... 1) always use a line wrench 2) actually tighten the nut a little first (this will break the rust loose) 3) loosen nut and remove line.

That is bad, no unsure about it. There's a chunk missing out of the bearing cap and the grease seal is gone.

My 98 does this, i found turning the ignition back towards the off position just slightly brings the guages back to life.

Take a BFH and smack real hard just above the yellow lines, might take a few hits, but it will seperate.

I also jacked up the rear end to tip the front end forward lift the front end, not the rear.
